Shizenshu Taruzake
A lightly aged Shizenshu sake has been finished in a Japanese cedar (sugi) barrel. The result is an incredibly full-bodied drink with a soft, woody aroma and an intense umaminess.
TYPE: Kimoto junmai sake
COLOUR: Clear pale lemon
OUR TASTING NOTES: Pronounced woody aroma with white miso, lemongrass and white grapes notes. On the palate, soft umami, creamy rice, citrus and more woody flavours that come from the sugi cedar barrel, followed by a nutmeg finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Shellfish sushi; mushroom Wellington; new potato and smoked mackerel salad.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve room temperature or warmed up (35-40 ºC)
STORAGE: Store in a dry and cool place. Avoid direct sunlight.
