Shochu

Japanese: 焼酎

Distilled spirit that can be made from sweet potato, barley, rice, or less frequently from millet, wheat, or buckwheat. The ABV is usually around 25% and it can be enjoyed straight, with ice, mixed with cold (mizuwari) or hot water (oyuwari), or even with green tea (ochawari).
