A handmade imo shochu distilled from Miyazaki Beni sweet potatoes. This is the very first shochu created by the current chief distiller and the perfect expression of the Kodama brand. A delicate taste, the harmony of flavours, and a lingering aftertaste are the key features of this shochu. The use of red sweet potatoes adds to it a specific light aroma and sweet flavour.
TYPE: Sweet potato (imo) shochu
COLOUR: Clear water white
OUR TASTING NOTES: Pronounced aromas of muscat grapes and elderflower with some dried shiitake mushroom, liquorice and grassy notes. Creamy, mellow and earthy on the palate with sweet potato pies and toasted sesame, and with a lingering finish.
FOOD PAIRING: Yakitori with tare sauce; roasted vegetables; terrine.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: It can be enjoyed in various ways from neat, with ice, with cold water and with soda. We recommend drinking it with hot water (oyuwari), which will best highlight the roasty flavours of the sweet potato.
STORAGE: Store in a dry and cool place. Avoid direct sunlight.
