This umeshu is made every year in July by slowly infusing green plums in the Wakatsuru own distilled whisky. The result is an original umeshu which combines the delicate fragrance of plums with a refined taste.
COLOUR: Clear medium-amber
OUR TASTING NOTES: Peated whisky meets Japanese ume plums. Pronounced peat with apricot and mandarin aromas on the nose and a hint of niboshi (dried infant sardines). This a luscious umeshu with a balanced acidity that makes it an incredibly refreshing drink. Whisky notes comes later on the palate with a lingering smokiness and black tea-like complexity.
FOOD PAIRING: Smoked cheese; smoked almonds; pastel de nata.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Serve on the rocks, chilled (8-12 ºC), or enjoy as a highball.
STORAGE: Store in a dry and cool place. Avoid direct sunlight.SPECS:
